How to sort by row in Excel 2010

More often we come across situations where we need to sort by column in Excel. There may be situations in which we may need to sort by row as well. Here is how this can be done.

Below is the data to be sorted. We are going to sort based on row 2 in ascending order.

Select the rows to be sorted, right click and choose "Custom Sort"

Sort window:

Click on options and select "Orientation" as "Sort left to right".

Select "Sort by" as "Row 2"

Select Order as Smallest to Largest.

The data is sorted based on row 2 ascending order.
